Ernest Greene (better known as Washed Out), pioneer of the “chillwave” sound (many credit him and Neon Indian for starting the genre) releases his first full length album next week via Sub Pop Records. and from the various streamables available on YouTube, it’s the same bedroom ethereal sound that made his first two EPs so endearing (and highly sought after), but with a slightly cleaner finish thanks to the assistance of Ben Allen, who co-produced Animal Collective‘s “Merriweather Post Pavillion” & Gnarls Barkley‘s “St. Elsewhere” (among others).

peep the clip below for a taste of the album’s opening track, “Eyes Be Closed”. it’s wonderfully serene until it explodes into an orgasm of sound waves. there is no way this album will suck.
and as an added bonus, here is an absolutely GORGEOUS fan-made video of “Feel It All Around”, directed by Chase Heavener. i think Ernest’s people should get in touch with Chase for future videos, dude’s got some serious fucking talent!
